adidas Solar Boost Launch

To support the launch of the adidas Solar Boost shoe, Sport Science Agency worked with the Midnight Club to deliver a running experience that provided distance runners with a better understanding of their performance.

A group of hand selected distance runners from London attended the adidas flagship store on Oxford Street to enjoy and experience testing and support that would normally only be available to elite athletes.

Each athlete took part in three activities where their body composition, power and stability were measured, put in context with elite athletes and coaching and advice was provided to help improve their performance.

BACKGROUND

Elite athletes are provided with a much higher level of training support than club level athletes. That support can cover all areas of their training from lifestyle to nutrition to biomechanics. adidas Runners invited athletes from around the London area to try the Solar Boost shoes and take part in a sport science experience.

A team of sport scientists set up a testing area within the adidas store and put each athlete through a series of tests to measure body composition, counter movement jump and stability. Their results were then put into context of elite athletes. Participants were provided with an email follow up which included their results and recommendations for improvements.

THE RESULTS

One hundred and thirty five hand selected athletes were provided with an opportunity to try the Solar Boost shoes and gain some insight into their own performance. The email follow up provided to each participant was opened on average 4.2 times.
