adidas City Runs 1 Hour

As part of the ongoing promotion of the adidas Ultraboost19, Sport Science Agency worked with the Midnight Club to deliver a designed with data message to the adidas Runners community.

Sixty hand picked, VIP athletes were provided with Stryd running power meters and their performance was measured throughout their one hour run.

The data from each athlete was analysed and returned to them as a digital memento within 24 hours of their race.

BACKGROUND

 

Many runners use GPS and heart rate data to record their performance, but for some time elite runners and sport scientists have known that power measurement offered a much more useful performance metric.

A team of sport scientists attended the adidas City Runs 1 Hour and worked with the hand picked adidas VIPs to collect pre-race data, equip each runner with a Stryd power meter which was attached to their adidas Ultraboost19 and downloaded and analysed the data at the end of the run. The data included - accurate distance data, average power, form power, cadence and pace. This data was explained to the participants through a series of fact to face and email interactions and was supported by their own digital memento of the day.

THE RESULTS

 

Sixty adidas VIPs were provided with unique insight into their running performance resulting in email open rates exceeding 95% and shareable content being produced for every athlete.
